A solo developer working on solving various needs within the IT industry who has a passion for 3D game, combined with real world outcomes.
Realising an enjoyable game requires a good and defined concept, mechanics that are easily understood and playable in the game, together with a smooth integration with good graphics. Something I've been working towards.
This has actually been made more and more possible with the advent of more powerful and free to use game engines. Together with good quality assets like 3D models, textures and sounds, it's become more possible for a solo developer to realise the full potential of their game concept and bring to release.
From initial concept to release, DawnWorld has undergone a lot of refinement. It's important not to be make a 'clone' of another game or your ideas naturally being superceeded by other development teams who follow their own development course, while you are working to bring yours to completion.
I think there's a good 70/30 balance, where your game concept is 70% of a familiar genre and gameplay mechanics, but 30% new and different to make it unique.
It is quite a journey to go from concept to playable game. From finding the right assets (Models and artwork) to building the mechanics. From solving the interaction of game play, to optimisations for smoothness (a whole subject on it's own). From polishing, informing and releasing, involving marketing, game website with manuals and social media, quite a journey for one developer 😎
After release and players start enjoying the game (essentially the community), DawnWorld is designed to grow. I do look forward to implementing the next stages with feedback from those who are interested in the concept.
