Frequently Asked Questions

What is DawnWorld Founders?

Essentially it can be classed as 'City Builder', however it encompasses much more. Broadly it has three main concepts of play: Initial survival, establish a settlement, grow and influence the surrounding region, even becoming a ruler. These concepts will be expanded on, allowing each one to be played in more detail, and it can be played at what ever level you prefer.

Can I just build a big settlement and not get further involved?

Absolutely, you can decide just play a certain part of the game, how involved you get in the larger region / concept is entirely up to you.

Why Pre Alpha?

After a lot of development, the game is close to a playable state, allowing those who would like to, to start playing it sooner. We could work on it for a longer time, but would rather make the idea available to the community to enjoy, and be part of the growing process.

Will there be more content

Yes, one of the interesting aspects of the gameplay is that you can zoom in and play at a greater detail on the ground, rather than from overhead. We have a number of ideas that we would like to implement over time, all included in the initial purchase price, including.

Finer influence on:

  • Survival gameplay
  • Settler decisions
  • Trade Interactions
  • Defence control
  • Regional control

Will it ever go up in price?

We do not plan to increase the price, there is a lot of content planned to be added free of charge, but we are making the game available to the community now.

Who is the Hologram I see in some screen shots?

Essentially You, it's called the player prescence and indicates the infuence you can have on the world. What you are able to influence this will expand in time.

When will it be available?

As soon as possible, I'm working daily to finish and polish of the final initial pre alpha gameplay concepts.

Where can I get it?

It will be available on Steam, just going through the page launch process.

Will it ever be an Online game?

Potentially yes, if there is a demand we would consider making an online version as many may well enjoy playing on a larger map. Those who prefer to play in single player mode will be able to do so.

Who's it developed by?

I'm an indie developer of one, and have been working on the game concept and implementing it for a number of years (it's quite a passion). I'm happy to be able to bring this idea to community and hope it's enjoyed by many as it grows.
